Xerographica Care
Watering: Soak the plant in room temperature water for 15–30 minutes every 1–2 weeks, or more often if the air is dry. You can also mist the plant a few times a week. After watering, gently shake off excess water and let the plant dry completely before returning it to its home. Avoid letting water sit between the leaves for too long, as this can cause the plant to rot.
Light: Place the plant in bright, indirect light, such as a room with lots of windows. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, especially against a south- or west-facing window, as this can scorch the leaves.
Fertilizing: Use a diluted liquid fertilizer or a fertilizer made for bromeliads 1–2 times a month.
Humidity: Heating and air conditioning can affect humidity, so the plant may need more frequent misting and soaking. You can increase humidity by increasing light.
Air circulation: Make sure the plant is in an area with good air circulation, and avoid putting it in completely enclosed containers.
Size: The plant can grow much larger than other Tillandsia, and can form a ball as large as two feet wide. Plan ahead to provide a mount that can handle its adult size and weight.
